About + Info
The Dishonored Gift Exchange is a biannual event where participants create gifts for each other! Gifts include any sort of art medium, such as traditional/digital drawings, fanfics, 3D models, and more.
A gift exchange event involves people submitting a few prompts that they would like to receive as gifts, then a secret person would receive those prompts to create a piece of art or writing for that person (think Secret Santa).
Important: We reserve the right to decline anyone who applies to the event. This includes anyone who supports hateful or discriminatory views.

There are distinct “periods” within a gift exchange event.

Due dates are all in Pacific Standard/Daylight Time (Western US), however this should not be a last minute “uploading at 11:59pm” thing.
Information On Possible Prompts
This is a SFW project so please no NSFW prompts. Ships are allowed, but be sure not to exclusively include ship prompts.This is a Dishonored specific event, so please keep all your prompts Dishonored-relatedYou can be specific or as vague as you want, but make sure you have at least two prompts total.Make sure you include prompts for both drawing and writing (prompts can be for both as well).Requesting OCs/personal designs for characters is allowed, but make sure you provide a link to your design. Likewise with ships, don't ONLY provide OC prompts.Please don't put "I'm not picky" or "do whatever you want" as a prompt, as it doesn't give the gifter much to work with.
Creation Specs
Participants are encouraged to do their best quality work that they can for their giftee. This shouldn't be an issue, but if we spot any work that doesn't meet basic requirements, we will inform you of such.Artists should at LEAST have their piece fully lined OR have a very well-cleaned up sketch.There is no maximum word count for writers, but there is a minimum word count of 1,500 words.Keep in mind that you should only be making your gift for one prompt only. If you are able to mix together prompts for one gift, that's fine, but don't do multiple things for multiple prompts (see our FAQ for more).And of course, if you want to do something else outside conventional gift exchange guidelines (such as 3D modeling), that's all well and good too! Though be sure to ask about it to make sure it's still sufficient for the event!
Giving the Gift
Once the creation period ends, the gifting period starts the next day. This lasts a week in order to give time for everyone to have time to contact their giftee.Please make sure you do not post your gift outside of the gifting period! This includes posting during the creation period, even if it's really close to ending.You can send your gift as a DM or post it on Tumblr (and tag your giftee). If you send your gift privately, please let us know!If you are unable to contact your giftee, contact a mod and we will make sure the gift is received.We will reblog all gifts (that are posted on Tumblr) to our Tumblr account as well, so please tag us in your gifts too! :DIf you have not received a gift by the end of the gifting period, please let us know as soon as possible!

Is traditional art allowed?
Yes! Make sure when you post or send your gift that you have a quality scan/photo of your gift.
How many of the prompts do I have to do?
You only have to choose one of the prompts given to you! However, if you find yourself able to combine multiple prompts together into your gift, you’re free to do that!
I really liked the prompts I was given, am I allowed to make multiple gifts?
For the sake of fairness, only make one gift for your giftee. If you were very inspired by their prompts, you can create with them outside of the gift exchange (ie. without mentioning the event) and ping your giftee.
Well, what counts as multiple gifts?
Multiple gifts means two separate creations that are not linked to each other in any way and are for two different prompts.If you, for example, write something and add additional art to it, that is acceptable because they are both for one prompt. Multiple images for one prompt is also acceptable.
My prompts don’t say whether something is for art or writing!
While some people prefer detailing whether they want art and/or writing for each prompt, most people don’t. In that case, do whichever you think is appropriate for each prompt!
